EMS

What is EMS

EMS stands for Energy Management System. EMS is a system to determine electric utility ,and to control and carry out optimal energy management. There are few types of EMS that classified by the managed object
  • HEMS(Home EMS):energy management system for household
  • MEMS(Mansion EMS):energy management system for mansion
  • BEMS(Building EMS):energy management system for building
  • FEMS(Factory EMS):energy management system for factory
  • CEMS(Cluster/Community EMS):energy management system for cluster/community

Background

Global CO2 emissions reduction measure

Thesedays, many countries are working on various measures to reduce CO2 emissions
Japanese Ministry of the Environment also set goals as follows
INDC:reduction targets and action is 3.8%(compared to 2005)
The vision for CO2 emissions reduction:reduction targets is 80%(compared to 2005)

CO2 emissions reduction of power generation

In contradistinction to exhaustible Resources, such as petroleum, coal, natual gas, Renewable energy is energy from sources that are naturally replenishing, such as sunlight, waves and wind.
Due to the Tohoku Earthquake in Japan, the nuclear power plant halted operations and the power shortage are compensated by thermal power generation.
Rely on thermal power generation caused more CO2 emissions and more fuel cost. The solar power generation has been promoted as one of effective solution

Approach to Energy conservation

To achieve the goal of CO2 emmisions reduction, Both engergy supplier and energy consumers need to work hard toward the same goal.
One of the approach is the energy efficiency.
By working on energy conservation, the CO2 emissions per business and general household can be reduced.
EMS provides functions such as “visualization”, “analysis and diagnosis”, and “demand control” as a energy-saving management system.
